Hitting the Pause Button

I'll be back.

Hi everyone,

I’ll be taking a break from posting on substack, so I’ve paused payments for my paid subscribers. I will unpause them when I begin posting regularly again. There are some papers I want to publish before my PhD is over and they’re going to require my full attention for the foreseeable future.

I will definitely finish the Nietzsche series in the near future. I have most of the series planned out already. Depending on how long my break from substack lasts, I may occasionally post an essay in that series during the pause.

I’ve really enjoyed writing this substack and reading the responses from readers. I wasn’t sure what to expect when starting this thing, but the response so far (in terms of feedback and growth) has been very encouraging. Maybe someday I’ll be able to do something like this full-time. I’m a long way from that possibility right now, but if the subscriber base keeps growing the way it has been, turning it into a full-time gig might be achievable in the distant future. Right now there are still things I want to accomplish with my scientific work and so I need to direct my attention towards that for a while.
